The Askle Sante range of positioning cushions allow you to effectively and rapidly secure postures which contribute notably in terms of reducing the pressure placed on body skin and tissue, vulnerable to pressure sores.
Pressure ulcers in the trochanter area are infrequent but dangerous. They occur mainly in patients strictly confined to bed in the lateral decubitus position. The Askle Sante Decubitus cushion is ideal for off loading these difficult to treat areas.

How should the products be cleaned?
Cleaning recommendations for Askle Sante products are similar to those for standard PU covered blocks and wedges. Do not submerge or machine wash the product. Surface clean with soap and water and, if necessary, sanitise with a chlorine-based disinfectant (<5000ppm, not phenol-based). The product should be wiped with plain water and completely dry before storing. Askle Sante products are reusable for multiple patients.
Can the product be repaired if the cover is damaged?
No. The manufacturer does not support or provide repair of the product. It is recommended that the product should be replaced if damaged.
What is the fire resistance of the product?
The product has been tested and conforms to the European ignitability standard EN 597-1 and -2.
Should the microbead cushion be covered by a sheet?
It is not necessary, however light covering does not reduce the effectiveness of the product. If additional covering is used, it should be loosely fitted to ensure that “hammocking” does not occur.
How should the product be disposed of?
This is a registered medical device. At the end of its useful life, the product should be treated as healthcare waste and disposed of according to local healthcare waste guidelines. It may be incinerated with other healthcare waste.
Does a patient still need re-positioning when using Askle Sante?
Pressure ulcers result from a combination of factors including pressure, shear, friction, and maceration. In common with all pressure redistributing surfaces, carers should follow standard protocols for re-positioning patients, as necessary whilst using Askle Sante products.
Is the product latex-free?
Yes. Askle Sante products are latex-free and hypoallergenic.
